My fishing partner for this field day was Morris Kolman + Hunter. For the information of new members, Hunter is my Border Collie.
I was looking forward with anticipation to the Cervantes field day. The October field day is usually the first FD that we see each
year with our summer weather pattern of afternoon sea breezes and easterly winds in the morning. The Cervantes / Hill River area
has produced good bags on most occasions over the years.
We arrived at Cervantes and had a good feed at the road house. At 11:55 there was no sign of any members and I started to wonder
if I had mixed up the sign on location and time. On the dot of 12:00 George and his son Heath arrived, as did Tony and Filomena
D'Alonzo.
After the sign on Tony headed for his usual location half way between Black Peak and the Hill River mouth. Morris and I checked
out most of the locations and after Tony's spot decided that Black Peak was a good option. George and Heath decided to join us there.
